Cassian Andor TV Series Announced

Cassian Andor TV Series Announced | Green Card Back

So much for the slow down…

From the official Star Wars site:

Disney Chairman and CEO Bob Iger announced today that Lucasfilm is in development on a second Star Wars live-action series for Disney+, the Company’s new direct-to-consumer streaming service. The series, which will go into production next year, follows the adventures of rebel spy Cassian Andor during the formative years of the Rebellion and prior to the events of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. Diego Luna will reprise the role of Andor. “Going back to the Star Wars universe is very special for me,” said Luna. “I have so many memories of the great work we did together and the relationships I made throughout the journey. We have a fantastic adventure ahead of us, and this new exciting format will give us the chance to explore this character more deeply.”

The rousing spy thriller will explore tales filled with espionage and daring missions to restore hope to a galaxy in the grip of a ruthless Empire. A release date for the series has not yet been announced.

Well, this was unexpected.

NYCC 2018 Black Series Reveals

NYCC 2018 Black Series Reveals | Green Card Back

Hello there!

Straight up, it feels pretty much like Hasbro planned this year’s New York Comic Con Black Series reveals on the theme of figures that *I* wanted to see – even if I didn’t know it before I saw them. 9PM Sunday was the point at which I should have told the big H to get out of my brain, but to be honest if this many great looking figures is the payoff for their sly mind-reading techniques then they can rootle around in there for as long as they like…

So what’s gotten me so excited? Glad you asked. Click on through to find out!

The Best NYTF 2018 Star Wars Reveals

Star Wars New York Toy Fair 2018 Action Figure Reveals | Green Card Back

Looking for the latest Black Series Reveals from NYCC? Click here!

The mid-February weekend marks every toy nerd’s favourite time of year – New York Toy Fair. Each year the big guns of the toy world set out their wares for the next 6-9 months, giving us our first glimpse of how our collections are going to take shape.

Last year’s NYTF was a disappointment for this collector as far as Star Wars was concerned; the repack heavy and entirely cynical 40th Anniversary Black Series line failed to hit the mark. Meanwhile the Tatooine themed Black Series 3.75″ wave (more repacks, but at least ones I would buy) looked good but didn’t even make it to these shores.

We already knew that the Vintage Collection was coming back at some point this year while the first wave of 6″ Solo: A Star Wars Story figures were revealed this week, but we didn’t know how the rest of the line was going to shake out. Would Hasbro bring the goods to make a success of things this year?

The answer was a resounding yes. Click through to see the most exciting Star Wars reveals from NYTF 2018!

Fought in the Clone Wars

Vintage Collection Clone Wars Anakin Skywalker | Green Card Back

The Vintage Collection Anakin Skywalker (Clone Wars) figure goes down as my favourite SA rendition of pre-Vader. It’s colourful, well articulated, and looks how I always imagined the Anakin of the Clone Wars to look – like a genuine space knight. Of course it helps that the Clone Wars series did a lot to expand Anakin’s character, making him more likeable and far more the kind of person we imagined when Ben Kenobi described him as a friend.
