The White Fett

Prototype (White) Boba Fett | Green Card Back

There’s been a much heavier Black Series focus here at Green Card Back recently, and well – that’s something that’s continuing today.

Like what you see? There’s more pics and background info after the jump!

Presenting: Black Series Prototype Boba Fett (with 3rd Party Mandalorian Cloak)

If you didn’t know any better you’d assume that the Prototype Boba Fett figure exemplifies the phrase ‘lazy repaint’. A bone white version of the popular bounty hunter with a few details isn’t exactly breaking the paint budget, right?

The convenience for Hasbro doesn’t make it any less true to the source material though – and furthermore, as variants go, Proto-Fett looks damn cool.

Prototype Boba Fett Concept Art | Green Card Back

Boba Fett was originally designed as an advanced Stormtrooper, which isn’t actually too far from his eventual origins as an unaltered clone. This explained the white armour, although the muted colour scheme that he eventually took was determined as a way to contrast both the stark white of the Stormtroopers and the black of Darth Vader. Check out a video of the actual prototype suit right here.

The Mandalorian cape you can see in these photos came from ace softgoods customiser Rickhor409 on eBay (you may need to change to the .com version of the site to find him). It takes the character from the concept shelf and straight into the EU realm – but I have no issues with that for a figure that looks this fantastic.
